Malta, One of Best Places in the Med

The Mediterranean is the North European’s hang-out. It’s hot pretty much all year round, cheap to get to and relatively non-threatening. You’ll come back with a good tan, a full gut and some great holiday snaps.

But one place which is overlooked (more so than the South of Spain, Portugal and Italy) is Malta. It’s slightly less touristy than, say, Majorca, and since it’s stranded out in the middle of the ocean you can bet your bottom dollar that you’re going to sample some excellent sea food! US car support to the country is also outstanding, and the people you’ll meet are genuinely friendly (as opposed to just friendly because they want your tourist cash).

There’s a strong family ethos in Malta, and it’s not uncommon to see all three generations of male, grandson, father and granddad, sitting on the pier together catching fish. This pleasure in simple values permeates to every area of the Maltese life, and they treat everyone with the respect and dignity they would expect in return. And if you do anger them (which is difficult), rather than stab you in the back afterwards they’ll address it up front in a plain and honest fashion.

But back to tourism – once here, two places you’ll definitely want to check out are Valetta and the Blue Lagoon. The latter is exactly what you’d expect – crystal clear, warm waters seemingly made for snorkelling and scuba diving (though it can be hard to find somewhere on the rocky beach to sit as it is usually busy). Valetta is the country’s capital, and if you time your visit well for the October celebrations you’ll be treated to a raucous night in which the streets are filled with good-natured revellers.

A Hit with Everyone – Italy

There is no doubt that Italy and everything about it is a rage with everyone. Females conjure up images of hot Italian men, children of piping cheese laden pizzas, and the men love the beauties of Milano. The cities of Italy have mystic and grandeur associated with them and are on the list of must see cities of all seasoned travelers.

The city of Naples is an uninhibited city with a whole lot of chaos as a regular part of life. An unabashed sense of disorder prevails over this city which makes it somewhat different from the more classy cities dotting Italy. It is a fun place, nonetheless, with a lot of noise and free spiritedness.

Who would not have heard of Venice? The capital city of romance which brings to mind the vision of a gondola with a couple sitting hand in hand cruising through the city built in water. Enchanting palaces and canals are like poetic justice through their detailed architecture. The air is amassed with the aroma of fresh brewed coffee from the street side cafés, cocoa, and memorable wines. The city of Venice could just be the city of dreams.

Palermo is the capital of Sicily. Yes, Sicily which is revered for its mouth watering delicacies has its epicenter in the northern part of the island. The city lies demarcated into old and new and encompasses one of the best harbors in the world.

Last but not the least is the glorious, and immersed in history, city of Rome. Rome is a city which was at the heart of the entire world at one stage in the past and still is reticent of the days gone by. Although the focus of the modern world has shifted to other power bases, going to Rome will revive all the learning from literature books about the authority that this city commanded.

So this summer, instead of planning a holiday in an ostello amsterdam you could perhaps plan a holiday in an Italian hotel.

Barcelona is not just a city in Europe. Barcelona is one of the sunniest, most lavish, most individualistic places in the world where sightseeing acquires a new meaning, and the rest becomes a spiritual enrichment.

• Tower Agbar “- considered one of the architectural wonders of the world because of the shape of a bullet
• Square of Spain and Catalonia “
• Museum of Egypt – a rich collection of ancient Egyptian relics.
• Street “Rambo”and indoor market
• Arc de Triomphe – built for exhibition in 1888 of red brick and the front frieze bearing the inscription “Barcelona welcomes all nations”
If longing mainly beaches, greenery and tranquility, it waiting for you here and infinite choice. In Barcelona there are 12 historic parks, 5 botanical gardens, 45 urban parks and 6 forest parks. Most of them are located near a popular tourist attraction or themselves are. And this would be an ideal opportunity to combine use with pleasure. The Balinese Quest

Bali is an island encased between Australia and North Indonesia. A well recognized place amongst the travel clique Bali has a lot on its platter for everyone to enjoy. The experience starts from the time you land where your plane will land on a runway – which is an alcove overlooking the beach with banyan trees dancing in the wind. A taste of what’s to come starts increasing your appetite for what lies ahead. Adults and children alike will say the place “rocks”.

You can start by discovering both ends of the island for a couple of days, starting off with Kuta which is the epicentre of activity on the island. The famed Double Six constantly revamps itself to offer frequent visitors something to look forward to. Before guzzling down that Long Island Iced Tea do some night bungee jumping at the club and then sway to the hip music of international DJ’s rocking the place. There is even an Apache Reggae Bar blaring out high decimal music with local palm wine served in plastic cups. Not to mention the famed Hard Rock Cafe, this can be counted on for a good time anywhere. The shopping in Kuta is fantastic and you will feel like picking up almost whatever you see as the knick knacks for your home are available in very contemporary but affordable prices.

The other side is more quaint and for revellers of luxury resorts with white sandy beaches. A haven for seafood lovers is in close proximity as the main hub of fishing activity is on this side of the island. There are many restaurants where you can relish the fresh catch of the day while overlooking the setting sun.

Anyone and everyone leaving Bali most definitely will have a scroll of a painting in their luggage as a memoir of a visit to the Ubud village famous for painting of local artist. A trip to Bali is so memorable that it is known to make people relocate there permanently!

Miami is one of the miracle cities in the US. A few ways to eco-travel

There are many ways to approach modern travel, and to keep it more eco-friendly than hopping on a plane every other week and jetting off for some time in the sun. Here are a couple of options if you want a great holiday. but you don’t want it to cost the Earth.
1 – Hire a canal boat. Britain’s inland waterways are definitely an underrated way to take a break. You can hire a canal boat for a week or a weekend from many places across the UK. The hire company will give you a quick lesson on how to handle the boat, how to tackle locks, and what to do if something goes wrong (call them, and wait for a nice man to come and fix it). Or if you’re interested in going further afield, boating holidays in Europe are also an eco-friendly way to have a relaxing holiday, floating down a major river such as the Danube. On this sort of holiday there is probably going to be someone else doing the work for you, and you can sit back and watch the scenery go by, maybe pop into some European towns and cities before returning to your floating hotel.
2 – Or if you were looking for something a bit more active, why not throw on some brooks running shoes and take a cycling holiday? To reduce your carbon footprint as far as possible, you could catch the ferry over to Calais and head down through France by bike. Or if you wanted to head further afield, help the environment by taking the train to you region of choice – I hear Croatia is a beautiful destination for cycle tourists. Cycling is a great way to see a place, as you don’t have the buffer of a window between you and the outside world as you go past, you can really experience everything as you travel through. The only downside is that you don’t have as much space to pick up souvenirs for family and friends!

The diverse culture of the USA

My friends and I took a few second hand campervans around the States last summer, and I found out that I really liked it. After taking the mic out of it for years, I am actually basically American.

The USA is the largest economy in the world with the higest life standard rates. The American dream is all associated with the strong employability on the US market, the stable financial rates of income in every household and the peaceful and calm life people can enjoy. But all that this powerful and beautiful country has achieved is because of the many ethnic groups, the strong mutual understandings they share and their mutual acceptance and recognition as a nation, as a separate people.

When travelling around the US, a person can encounter so many different cultures that hardly is there someone who can remember all aspects of his travel and all the new things he has met while on the way.The reason is because the USA is composed by so many people with different traditions, religions and views that to include all that in an article would be impossible. Formed in the second half of the 18th century as a free and an independat country, the USA has become home for so many different ethnic groups -Africans, Europeans, the native tribes of North Americans, people from Asia and South America. This created the vast scope of social values and traditions that nowadays make the US such an attractive place to be.

Every state has its own alls, all subordinated to the Constitution -this creates the first major difference in the parts of the USA -the different legal rules that govern the social life of each state but all equal before the ultimate law of the Constitution which rules over the important issues of justice such as human rights, civil liberties and freedom. All other aspects of the US life can be observed aswell -the food of many cultures can be found, the believes of many ethnic groups can be observed, the rituals of hundreds of different peope can be recorded -all that makes the US the country with the most diverse cultural world the exporing of which is something every person on the globe would like to do.
